Ironically, its capital and biggest city is also called Djibouti. With an area of 23,180 square kilometers, it is the third-smallest African country after Gambia and Swaziland.

Whale sharks regularly visit the coast of Djibouti and it is visited by tourists swim amongst whale sharks. Djibouti is also famous for Lac Assal, which is a crater lake ten times saltier than the sea. It is 155 meters below sea level, which makes it the lowest point in Africa and the third lowest in the world. The Lac Abbé in Djibouti is a plateau with hundreds of limestone chimneys, each puffing steam and making the place look other-worldly.

Located in the Caribbean, Dominica is an island nation and home to about 74,000 people. It has an area of only 754 square kilometers, yet it is home to some of the rarest flora and fauna species. Another Caribbean Country, the Dominican Republic is home to 10.7 million people, and this country neighbors Haiti. It is the 86th most populous country in the world and has a lot to offer. The main language spoken here is Spanish, and it’s the only country to have the Holy Bible on its national flag. Dominican Republic is LSO the second largest island in the Caribbean It also shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti. The main industry in the Dominican Republic is the sugar processing industry. 5. Democratic Republic of Congo

Formerly known as Zaire, the Democratic Republic of Congo is the most populous Francophone in the world with a population of approximately 91 million people. It experiences high precipitation and the highest frequency of thunderstorms in the world. Also, the nation is house to the Congo Rainforest, which is the second-largest rainforest in the world. Its geography is varied, with savannas, plateaus, grasslands, and high glaciated mountains.

The most famous mountains are the Rwenzori Mountains, which are located in the extreme eastern region. The Congo Rainforest is the reason Congo is the home to various World Heritage Sites, which are the Virunga, Garamba, Kahuzi-Biega, Salonga National Parks, and the Okapi Wildlife Reserve. The Congo River is not only the lifeline of the rainforest, but it is also the backbone of the country’s economy and transportation.

6. Democratic People’s Republic of Korean

More commonly known as North Korea, the DPRK calls itself a self-reliant socialist state. Occupying an area of 120,540 square kilometers, North Korea has a population of 25.368 million people. Even though the country holds elections, North Korea has been labeled to have a Stalinist totalitarian dictatorship regime. The United States banned its citizens from going to North Korea.

The country has a military-first policy, with 9.495 million citizens being part of the active, reserved, and retired military. Though the country is largely isolated, it is open to visitors from all over the world, except South Korea and Malaysia. Around 70% of the land of the country is covered in forest and the nation has various Mountain ranges.
