Venna Lake is a beautiful lake in Mahabaleshwar and is one of the popular tourist attractions of Mahabaleshwar. The lake is surrounded by lush greenary. The lake has the periphery around 7-8 KM and area or about 28 acres.
Venna Lake was built by Shri Appasaheb Maharaj, ruler of Satara, in the year 1942. The lake was built to cater the water needs of the city of Mahabaleshwar.
You can take a exciting boat rides here, but the place is usually very crowded. Row and Peddle Boats are available for rent. Here are the charges.
Row Boat: Around Rs.250 for 0.5 hour or Rs. 500 for 1 hour. Max 7 ppl.
Peddle Boat: Around Rs. 440 for 1 hour. Max 6 ppl.
Venna Lake Timings:
Venna Lake is open on all days of the week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Good time for boating is after 4:00 PM. Boating club is open till sunset only.
One can also opt for horse rides nearby.
Venna Lake Entry Fee
There is no entry fee to the lake. You will be charged only for boat rides.

Venna Lake is located at a distance of 2 km from the market of Mahabaleshwar.. You can hire a taxi to reach there.
You can also enjoy yummy Chowpatty food at numerous food stalls near the lake. One can also enjoy other activities including horse riding and games such as merry go round and the toy train.
