We all know how the whole world is facing trouble due to the spread of Coronavirus. India is also affected and we have seen more than 70 cases already. So, the country has now decided to suspend all existing travel visas issued to any country. This restriction has been imposed to reduce the growing cases of COVID-19.
The restriction came a day after the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared coronavirus as a pandemic. The disease has already spread to over 100 countries.
If you are not an Indian national but had plans to visit India before April 15, you should now cancel all your bookings. The restriction came into from 6:30 AM on March 13. Visa travel facility of OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholders will also stand suspended till April 15.
All Indian nationals coming back to India during this period of time will also be screened. If they are coming from Italy, China, the Republic of Korea, Iran, Spain, France, and Germany, they will be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. International traffic through land borders will also be restricted.
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has advised all Indian nationals to avoid living abroad to avoid non-essential travel to India. Indian people should also avoid traveling to affected countries to be on the safer side.
