India’s longest glass bridge inaugurated in Vagamon, Kerala

Now, tourists visiting Kerala have a thrilling new attraction to explore – India’s longest cantilever glass bridge. This incredible bridge is located in the beautiful hill station of Idukki district and was opened to the public on September 6. It’s a joint effort between the Idukki District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) and Bharat Mata Ventures Private Limited.

This longest glass bridge in India is located on the Wagamon hills, at an impressive 3,500 feet above sea level. It stretches for a total of 40 meters or 120 feet. What makes it even more special is the breathtaking panoramic view it offers, allowing you to gaze at distant places like Mundakayam, Kuttikkal, and Kokkayar. The bridge is sturdily constructed with strong steel cables and towering poles, and it can safely accommodate up to 15 people at a time. So, you can walk on it and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the Vagamon hill station.

What’s interesting is that this remarkable structure used approximately 35 tonnes of steel imported from Germany in its construction.

When you visit, you can experience the thrill of walking on this 120-foot-long bridge at Vagamon’s Adventure Park. In addition to the bridge, the park offers an array of exciting activities, such as sky swinging, sky cycling, sky rolling, rocker ejection, free falling, a colossal swing, and a zipline. The glass used in the bridge comes from Germany, ensuring safety and quality.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Peermade MLA Vazhoor Soman, Udumbanchola MLA M M Mani, and district panchayat president K T Binu.

This remarkable project was made possible through a partnership between the district tourism promotion council and Bharat Mata Ventures Pvt Ltd, with an investment of INR 3 crore. Tourism officials are hopeful that the introduction of the glass bridge will boost tourism in the Wagamon region.

If you’re planning to visit, the ticket price is INR 500, and you can find it at JWRC+99, Amruthamedu Rd, Amreuthamedu, Vagamon, Kerala 685501. So, get ready for an unforgettable adventure in Kerala’s picturesque landscape!
