If you are planning to go around, then Gulmarg should be first on your list. People often hesitate to go to Kashmir but will not face any problem on going to Gulmarg. The specialty of this Hamlet is that it leaves no stone unturned to enchants people with its beauty throughout the year. Gulmarg is a very beautiful city and hill station. A popular skiing destination and a notified area committee in Baramulla district of the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir.

HISTORY

In reality, its name was Gouri Marg. Sultan Yusuf Shah of the Chak dynasty gave it the name of Gulmarg and people call it "meadow of flowers" also who made a place together with his wife Habba khatoon in the 16th century. Mughal Emperor Jahangir had 21 different kinds of wildflowers for his garden in Gulmarg. In the 19th century, British civil servants started using the northern Indian plains to escape the heat of summer. Because they used to be fond of golf, for there past time, they built 3 golf courses in Gulmarg to play golf and including one exclusively for women. One of them is the longest golf course in the world with 2,650 meters long.  In 1927, the British formed a ski club in Gulmarg and also used two ski events, one at Christmas and one at Easter. Aurel Stein, Central Asian explorer also visited Gulmarg during this period. Gulmarg became part of the independent princely state of Jammu and Kashmir after the end of London colonial rule.

To ensure the elevation of the impressive state, Pakistan planned an invasion of the state called Operation Gulmarg. Indian planners sought to develop a destination for Winter sports in India after Indian independence.


CULTURE

At the end of the road are the edge of the valley and the top of the mountain. 1. KONGDORY

Apart from esteeming the beauty of Himalayan ranges, tourists can enjoy other persuits like snow skiing and horse riding.

2. SKIING IN GULMARG

Gulmarg is a very beautiful city where people go to hang out with their friends and family too. During snow-storm, beautifully characterised open spaces in the forest land can be skied below Gulmarg which may lead you to the local tabernacle. Apart from all the spellbinding view, you may try skiing, use the Gulmarg gondola once, skin a few kilometers along, hike the rest and take a cab for the rest.

3. KHILANMARG

5 km away from Gulmarg bus station, this place which looks like paradise, is famous for its very beautiful flowers are seen in summer which looks a different way in the coolness and does not look less than a dream destination in winter. Khilanmarg is a small valley which is about 6 kilometers away and which is one of the tourist destinations of Jammu and Kashmir-Gulmarg. This place is the perfect incorporation of natural beauty coupled with adventure sports, making it a recommended destination for thousands of tourists.

And after that here comes Maharani Temple which is situated in the middle of Gulmarg. This temple is a sign of victory over religion because in this temple a Muslim priest plays all the rituals of this temple. 


3. ZIARAT OF BABA RESHI

After seeing this, it is possible to go to Ziarat of Baba Reshi, it is made in the 13th century. This tomb took place in 1480 when Baba Payam Uddin, a Muslim saint, died. He was a minor courtier of King Zainul-Abidin before he renounced the worldly fascination.
