With the elevation of 1970 meters above the sea-level, this small-town hill-station is located to the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. The hill station has a mesmerizing and irresistible scenery that can make you visit this place again and again. It is characterized by the old-world charm, enchanting landscapes, pine-clad valleys, large green beds of meadows filled with lively flowers, magnificent misty mountains and note-worthy natural views in the world. The town was named after The Earl of Dalhousie, who was the British Governor-General in India. Attracting to its scenic beauty and realizing its importance as a heat-escape solution, the general considered this town as a regular summer-retreat.

HISTORY

In 1854 the town was considered as the retreat to escape Indian summer. It was a popular holiday destination for British owing to its peaceful, cool and calm climate. The five neighboring hills- Bhangora, Bakrota, Terah, Potreyn, Kathalagarh were acquired by the Chamba rulers to convert the town into a hill-station, which was achieved soon and Dalhousie became a favorite spot as hill-station for most of Indians.
