BEST TIME TO VISIT
Summer: Like any other city in Uttarakhand, Mussoorie experiences three major seasons which are the Summer, Monsoon, and Winters. The summer season in Mussoorie begins in the month of March and lasts till June. You might expect summers to be highly warm and humid but that’s exactly opposite here. The hill station has a moderate temperature which ranges between 15 degrees to about 25 degrees. That’s why tonnes of people visit Mussoorie during the summer months. The popularity of Mussoorie during summers also makes it the peak season. Summers in Mussoorie also means that the snow from the winter months has melted away, giving rise to full flowing streams and magnificent waterfalls which adds the beauty of the place.
Monsoon: The next is the Monsoon season which begins in the month of July and lasts till September. This is the season where landslides are frequent and the roads prove to be extremely dangerous and hence this time makes Mussoorie inaccessible. But if one dares to visit the hill station, they would be greeted with a stunning view. The entire hill station reflects a serene, hypnotic vibe and makes you forget all your worries and woes. Mussoorie during this time is covered in mist making all sceneries look much better than they would on a typical day. The monsoons, therefore, makes a perfect getaway for individuals who enjoy some peace and solitude and want to catch a break from their hectic lives.
Winter: The next is the Winter season which begins in the month of October and ends in the month of February. Winters in Mussoorie are also considered the best times to visit. This is because the entire hill station is covered in a blanket of sparkling white snow that gives the town a completely different look. The temperature falls down below zero degrees at night. The snowfall is generally heavy during December, January, and February and witnessing this phenomenon has been a favorite activity among tourists.
