How to reach Mussoorie

HOW TO REACH

By Air: There are no airports on which you can land in Mussoorie except helipads as the area is heavily covered with snow throughout the year. The nearest airport from Mussoorie is the Jolly Grant Airport which is about 60 kilometres from Mussoorie and it should take you at least a couple of hours to reach there. This is the nearest one if you’re travelling within India but if you’re travelling from another country then the nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport, about 300 kilometres away and it will take you about 8 hours to reach there either by a car or a bus.

By Train: The nearest railway station leading to Mussoorie is the Dehradun Railway Station which is about 32 kilometres away and it should take you about an hour or more depending on the climate and weather. You can opt either for a bus or a cab depending on your budget. For safety, a cab would be the best option as there are lots of valleys on the way which would make your journey a little bit scary and risky.

By Road: If you’re planning to visit Mussoorie via road then you should go via Saharanpur road which is the most convenient and fastest route. The distance is about 300 kilometres and it should take you about seven or eight hours depending on the climate and weather which you’re travelling.
