HOW TO REACH MATHERAN

The nearest Airports for Matheran are Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport at Mumbai, Pune Airport. People boarding at these airports can travel by roadways or by train to reach Matheran.
BY ROAD
Matheran has well-connected road network to major cities due to the presence of Mumbai- Pune Highways. Government buses are available from Mumbai, Pune or Panvel. However, the buses are allowed until Narel only. Rest of the journey should be done by Toy-Trains or car till Dasturi Naka.
BY RAILWAY
The nearest Railway stations for Matheran are Karjat Junction and Neral Junction that are at the distance of 19 km and 8 km respectively. These stations are well connected with the important cities. Matheran is connected with Neral station via Toy-trains and Karjat via local trains. Traveling through Neral is comparatively easy as it has a shorter distance to cover.
