India Gate

India gate has a great importance in the history of India. The Gate was build in the memory of 82000 soldiers of the Indian Army who lost their lives during the first world war. The India gate is situated at the eastern part of delhi and formly called as Kingsway. The archetecture of India gate is world famous which resembles the Arch of Constantine. The Gate was designd by Sir Edwin Lutyens. The dimentions of the India gate are 42 meter tall and 9.1 meter wide. The construction of India gate was started in 1921 and finished in 1931. Every year on 26th january there is Republic Day Parade happen in the front of India gate.

Anyone can visit India Gate anytime as it is open on all days 24 hours.

There is no entry fee to visit the structure.

How to reach India gate:
Rajiv Chowk is the nearest metro station from India Gate. It takes 10 to 15 minuts to reach India gate from Rajiv Chawk.
