Bhimtal is a town in the Nainital district in the state of Uttarakhand and has been a major tourist spot since the last two decades. The major attraction here is the Bhimtal Lake, which sports an island at its center. Rich in history, Bhimtal has a massive historical significance as the place is named after Bhima and is much older than Nainital. The place was seized under the British after the Anglo-Nepalese War.
