Soon after finishing the election campaigning for the last phase of general election 2023, Narendra Modi visited Kedarnath. After worshiping Lord Shiva at Kedarnath temple, he also meditated overnight in “Dhyan Kutia” officially called as “Rudra Meditation cave”. There is also an electricity connection but this place is out of Mobile network coverage.
This cave is in complete isolation, so you will get a peaceful no disturbance environment for the meditation. There is also a bell through which the person inside the cave an reach the GMVN office for inquiries or help at any time. There is also a phone to connect the facility manager in case of an emergency.
You will get drinking water, Morning Tea, Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Tea and Dinner at a prescribed timing.
How to book Modi cave?
If you also want to mediate in Modi cave, you can book it from GMVN website. Initially, one could only book it for at least 3 days but it couldn’t attract many people. Demand was not much, so they dropped this rule and now one can book for one day as well.
Only one person is allowed in the cave at a time. Smoking and consuming alcohol is not allowed within the premises.
Note: You should know that there is no refund if you cancel the booking or refuse to stay in the cave for whatsoever reason. So, book only when your plan is final.
Booking Price: Rs. 990 Per day.
You can book this cave for Rs. 990 per day but GMVN is now considering to increase the price after seeing the surge in demand recently.
You will have to pass a medical test
If you have booked this cave, you will have to reach the GMVN office two days before your booking date for a medical test. If you found fit, then only you can use the cave for medication. This is important because the cave is located at a high altitude and has really cool weather.
After Narendra Modi meditated in the cave, people have started searching for this place and have shown their interest in booking it for meditation. So, the Uttarakhand government is also now planning to develop many more such chambers for spiritual seekers.
