When it was in use, it was said to be contaminated with black water and saw several suicides committed in it. Stories of hauntings might be scarce but the creepy feeling one gets in its presence keeps people away from this Baoli.

One of the most haunted areas of Delhi has shown it’s resident’s grim sights of a woman hanging upside down from a tree. That tree too is located outside the abandoned haunted house of the area. Chilling drop in temperature and the shrill laughter of a woman keeps people away from this house. Some people have detailed accounts of strange ghosts, like a woman in ancient attire disappearing before them, that they encountered in the complex. The complex is said to have been built on a graveyard.

The grim ruins of Firoz Shah Kotla Fort are in an area of dead silence. Locals still feel the presence of the ancient inhabitants in the fort even if it’s as old as the 14th century. To calm the spirits down, some people get together on Thursdays at the fort and they have claimed to experience strange pushes and fragrances during that time. And all the evil even follows them home.

Just be the name you can tell how infamous this place is in the surroundings. Several instances of people hearing screams and yells from this historic monument are well known in the area. The chilling history of the Darwaza explains itself; it was the site of the murder of 3 Indian princesses and the Britishers used to hang Indian revolutionaries here as well.
