In this blog, I am going to tell you best places in India which you can visit in this beautiful month of September.
1. Ladakh
We all know about the beauty of Ladakh, in fact, we all have seen it in the movies. Now, this is the time to visit the valley and witness the beauty with your naked eyes. If you are a group of friends and want some adventure then you can try mountain bike ride with those noisy off-road bikes. The beautiful glaciers on the top can be seen easily.
Camping in the night at the Pangong Lake can be a great adventure. Just imagine the scenery under the sky full of stars and a fresh breeze. You can also visit Mount Everest Base, monasteries or you can also try activities like trekking. Don’t forget to visit the magnetic hill and War memorial. Trust me! It will be a moment to remember. You can also celebrate the Ladakh festival which takes place from 1st to 15th of September every year.
2. Rajasthan
Tourism in the Rajasthan begins with the beginning of September. The best places to visit in Rajasthan during the autumn are Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, and Mount Abu. Apart from this, there are many adventure activities which you can do here is 4W drive in the sand dunes, Quad drive, etc. Make sure to try moonlight dinner in the desert.

3. Kodaikanal
Kodaikanal is one of the hill stations present in the Tamil Nadu and September is the best time to visit this beautiful paradise. You can enjoy various activities like trekking, yoga, cycling, exploring caves and various different activities. You can also experience some water-based activities such as pedaling and boating at the end of the monsoon is suitable for such activities. Personally, I will suggest you visit Pillar Rocks and Kukkal Lake part from these two you can visit Bryant Park, Bear Shola Falls, Dolphin nose rocks, etc.
4. Srinagar
Srinagar is also known as the “city of nobles” or The Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It has a lot of many lakes and houseboats which can take your heart away. Here you will see stain – glass Havelis, old palaces, and beautiful mosques. In the first half of the month, the days are long and warm and it is considered as the summer of Jammu and Kashmir. In Dal Lake, you can have a ride on shikaras which are the houseboats in the lake.
You can visit Shalimar Bagh, Mughal Gardens, Pari Mahal and orchards of apricot and apples. Make sure to visit Haratbal Shrine and the Shankaracharya temple. You can also trek in the ranges of Pir Panjal, fishing, etc. In short, if you are going to Srinagar then make sure you visit everything that you see in your way.
5. Leh
This is the best place for budget travelers and adventure tourists. This place has calm and pleasant weather but sometimes there is rain and cloudy sky. This place is known for its monasteries, palaces and trekking opportunities. You can also experience a slight snowfall which makes this place a beautiful spot for holidays.
6. Rishikesh
Rishikesh, the spiritual city, is situated in Uttrakhand and is full of adventure activities. Rishikesh is known for the statutes of Lord Shiva, bridges and ashrams. It is the center of Yoga and meditation which attracts many tourists from different parts of the world.
You can do river rafting in the Ganga from Kaudiyala to Laxman Jhula or you can simply visit Ram Jhula Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat, and Trayabakeshwar. If you are an adventure junkie and are above the age of 12 then activities like Para Gliding, Rock Climbing, kayaking, and rappelling are waiting for you.
7. Ziro
A small town in Arunachal Pradesh, Ziro is one of the best places to visit in the month of September especially if you are a music lover. Yes! You heard it right, every year in the month of September a musical festival takes place which is known as the Ziro Music festival which is hosted by the Apani tribe of the Ziro. This Green Valley will have two stages, 40 artists and 6000 attendees. So if you are a music lover then this place should be a must-visit place for you.
Apart from the Ziro Music Festival, you can also visit Talley valley wildlife sanctuary, Meghna cave temple, Pine grove, etc.
8. Spiti valley
If you want a break from your daily routine and want some peace then Spiti valley is for you. It is one of the least populated places in India. It is situated in Himachal Pradesh and it is a part of the cold mountain desert. It is the valley of Buddhist people which remain undisturbed.
You can do rafting in the Spiti river or go for trekking on the back of the yaks. Tabo monastery and Bara Shigri glacier are also a nice place to visit.
9. Jaipur
The Pink city which is the capital of Rajasthan is rich in cultural heritage and of the beautiful cities in India. Here you can visit many forts as much as you want such as Amber Fort, Jai Mahal, etc. If you want to shop for some precious Gems and stones you can visit Johri Bazar. Make sure you visit the Hawa Mahal which can be considered as the Taj Mahal of Jaipur and has more than 900 windows.
10. Amritsar
The jewel of Punjab “The Golden Temple” is situated in the Amritsar which is a major tourist attraction Punjab. Approximately 300 to 400 meters away the famous Jallianwala Bagh is situated where everyone should have a visit and pay tribute to the martyrs of the genocide occurred during the Indian Freedom Movement. You can also visit Ranjit Singh Museum, ISKCON temple, and the Wagah border to see the parade. Here the rates for the accommodation are quite reasonable and the city has a well-established road connection.
11. Valley of Flowers National Park
The valley of flower national park in Uttarakhand is one of the best places to visit in September. This place is like heaven during rains and even after rain. This place only opens for 3 months, from July to September.
12. Kedarnath
Kedarnath is one of the Char Dham in Uttarakhand. This place has great value in Hindu Religion. The temple will close on the day of the Bhai Dooj festival, which is two days after the Diwali Festival. Kedarnath shrine remains closed for six months during the biting cold winter months.
13. Meghalaya
The Meghalaya is a heaven on earth. If you want to see the real beauty of Meghalaya then visit this place during or after rain. The meaning of Meghalaya is “home of clouds” and you will know why is it called Meghalaya once you visit this place. This is a must-visit place in India in September.

14. Periyar National Park
The Periyar National Park or Periyar Tiger Reserve is in the mountainous Western Ghats of Kerala, southern India. This wildlife sanctuary is very green and beautiful. It is home to tigers and a significant elephant population, as well as rare lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, leopards, and Indian bison.
15. Fagu
Fagu is the place near Shimla. If you are visiting Shimla, we recommend you to stay in Fagu and enjoy the real beauty of Himalaya. Our team visited this place in September and found a triple rainbow and lots of apple farms. You can see in the above image, how beautiful is this place.
