HOW TO REACH DHARAMSHALA
BY AIR
The nearest Airport located at 15 km from Dharamshala is Gaggal Airport. The Airport is connected to the nearby destinations. There are facilities for Taxi, cab or buses from this airport that can take you to Dharamshala. Apart from Gaggal, there are other major Airports like Chandigarh, Delhi and Chandigarh Airports. They are located at a distance of 248 km, 494 km, 190 km from the destination. Considering the well-connected airports, international tourists prefer these rather than Gaggal Airport. After deboarding to any of the airports you can travel by the roadway services.
BY ROAD
The town has good network roads that connect the major cities of the state. There are frequent buses available from the nearby cities to reach Dharamshala. Gaggal has numbers of taxis and buses for Dharamshala that takes around 3 hours to reach. You can also drive from Delhi via Chandigarh, Kiratpur, and Bilaspur for 12 hours. From Shimla and Delhi, there are Luxury Buses plying to Dharamshala.
BY TRAIN
The overnight journey is an excellent option to make your journey memorable by train. The nearest Railway station you can prefer to stop is Pathankot which is 85 km away from Dharamshala. There are frequent trains running towards Jammu and Kashmir that give a halt at Pathankot. You can travel by bus or hire a cab on reaching Pathankot.
