Sri Durgambika Temple is popularly known for Goddess Durgambika who is considered as the divine form of 'shakti'. The temple is located in the city of Davangere. Years ago the temple was part of Nolambavadi Province of Chalukya times. Later on the Temple passed from hands of Chalukyas to Pandyas and from Hoysalas to Vijaynagar kings. At the end the Temple was hand over to the Mysore Kings.
This the largest temple of the city and is dedicated to Devi Durga. People of the city celebrated Durgambika Devi festival once in two years. Devotees comes from all over the India to join the Durgambika Devi festival seek the blessing of Goddess Durga.
