Saptkund is a less known trekking destination in India. It is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. This beautiful and adventurous destination is known for the Seven Lakes belongs to Shiva (Mahadev). The half of the trek lies in the lush green forest and rest of the trek on nacked mountains. The Seven Lakes is situated at the hight of more than 5000 meters. The top point of the trek has just touched the base of Nanda Ghunti. You can see the many beautiful peaks covered with snow along with the Nandadevi.
To start trek, first of all, you need to reach Ramani village via Nandpryag and Ghat. The trek routes pass through some of the most breathtaking alpine pastures and offer the views of beautiful Himalayan peaks. The complete trek would take total 7 days, 4 days for up and 3 for down. Total distance covered in up and down is almost 60 km.
Weather on the trek varies continuously. You can face sudden rain, storm or snowfall, so be prepared for all situations. The temperature on top lies between 0 to -5 deg centigrade.
