How to reach Chamoli

Via Road

Chamoli is well connected by good roads with all major cities and tourist destinations in the state of Uttarakhand. National Highway 7 passes through Chamoli. Apart from this, another road goes from Chamoli to Gokeshwar to Ukhimath, forming the shortest route connecting Badrinath and Kedarnath. Buses and taxis are easily available from Chamoli to several cities of Uttarakhand including Rishikesh, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Srinagar. Uttarakhand Transport Corporation and Garhwal Motor Owners Union (GMU) operate buses from the city.

Via Rail

The nearest railway station to Chamoli is Rishikesh, and it is located at a distance of 202 km from Chamoli. Currently, the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail route is under construction, after its construction, Karnprayag, (40 km away) will be the nearest railway station from here.

Via Flight

Gauchar, 50 km from Chamoli, has an airstrip, which is proposed to be converted into an airport in the future. However, the present nearest functional airport is Jolly Grant, which is located at Dehradun, 222 km from the city. This airport is well connected to Delhi with daily flights.
