Andaman and Nicobar Islands is one of the seven union territories of India. Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a group of islands in Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. There are total 572 islands out of which 32 are inhabited. Basically, it comprises two island groups, the Andaman Islands (partly) and the Nicobar Islands. About 550 islands are in the Andaman Group and Nicobars, comprise some 22 main islands. Port Blair city is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar. Total area of all these islands is approximately 8,249 square km. It has longest coastline which stretches to approximately 2000 km.
This place is closely linked to the infamous Kaala Pani or Cellular Jail. The Cellular Jail lies in Port Blair where British people kept India's freedom fighters.
