Amritsar historically also known as Ramdaspur is the city in the Indian state of Punjab. The city is known for Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is the holiest shrine of Sikhism. The city is the centre of Sikhism and was founded in 1577 by Guru Ram Das. Sikhs from around the world visit this place.
City is home to several temples and Gurudwaras including Gurdwara Manji Sahib, Akal Takht, Gurdwara Bebaaksar Sahib, Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha, Tala Sahib Gurudwara, Shivala Bhaian Temple and the Gopal mandir.
It is also known for Jallianwala Bagh massacre and Attari border.
