HOW TO REACH AMARNATH:
VIA ROAD: It is not very well connected by road because Amarnath is on a tretorous terrain. One can go to Jammu and then have to go by road to reach Srinagar and then to Pahalgam or Baltal. Baltal is the smallest trek on the way up to Amarnath, but slightly very tough. Pahalgam trek is longer and relatively safer and more suited for senior citizens and families.
VAI RAILWAY: There is no direct train to go to Amarnath. The closest station to Amarnath is Jammu, which is 178 km away from Amarnath. Any cab from Jammu can hire either for Pahalgam or for Baltal. It takes 1-2 days from Baltal to wipe Amarnath while it takes 3-5 days from Pahalgam.
VIA AIR: Srinagar is the closest airport to Amarnath, which connects about 70 major airlines from Pahalgam. You can also take a government bus from Srinagar to Pahalgam. Or you can also take a direct cab or helicopters are also available till Amarnath.
